In this article, we’ll explore Kingfisher Labels’ highlights and big moments over the past year, from getting into the flow of things in our new premises to doubling down on charitable giving. Then, having taken the time to celebrate those, we’ll confidently carry the lessons we learned and the successes we earned into 2025.
Settling into Hawkesworth House
After moving into larger premises just before Christmas 2023, much of early 2024 was spent settling in, planning how to fill the space effectively and ironing out new production routines for our various self-adhesive labelling solutions.
We did all of the above without disrupting our customer service or delivery deadlines, and we now feel very much at home in Hawkesworth House.
Towards the end of April, we even hosted a factory Open Day, welcoming customers and collaborators through the doors for a look behind the label production curtain!
Charity and fundraising efforts
The Kingfisher team engaged in some hugely meaningful charity work over the last 12 months, including Macmillan coffee mornings in the office and a rewarding Pride Month packaging collaboration with Wiper and True (supporting the Rainbow Laces campaign).
Closest of all to our hearts? The £5,000 we raised for the Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity via a sponsored memory walk in honour of our late M.D., Martin Jackson.
New machinery investments
Just as we planned to at the end of 2023, we made several label printing machinery purchases this year. We based these targeted investments on criteria such as:
- Will this machine add value to our operation?
- Will this machine improve our ability to provide bespoke solutions?
- Will this machine stand the test of time?
- Will this machine hold up to our high standards of product quality?
Equipment that made the cut – literally and figuratively – included our Mark Andy Digital Pro 3 label press with a max speed of 77 fpm and our duo of Daco PLD350 rotary die cutters with semi-automatic turret rewinders.
Advising our valued customers
Amongst the many print runs of self-adhesive labels we oversaw in 2024, we kept making time to guide and advise our valued customers. We chatted, collaborated, and creatively problem-solved, and we continued to honour our commitment to customer service as high-quality as our products.
Plus, we shared plenty of expertise on our blog, covering everything from common labelling mistakes to tips for future-proofing your business’s packaging.
